Emirates Clinical Pharmacy Society (ECPS)

Name and Establishment

The Emirates Clinical Pharmacy Society (ECPS) is established under the umbrella of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA) in accordance with applicable laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates.

Objectives

  • Promote excellence in clinical pharmacy practice across the UAE.
  • Support education, research, and professional development in clinical pharmacy.
  • Foster collaboration among healthcare professionals to improve patient care.
  • Advocate for best practices and evidence-based approaches in clinical pharmacy.

Membership

The Society shall have one category of membership: Active Membership. Eligibility for Active Membership shall include any of the following criteria:

  • Licensed Clinical Pharmacists holding a valid UAE license from DoH, DHA, or MOHAP and actively practicing in a healthcare facility.
  • Individuals holding advanced qualifications such as MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, PharmD, PhD, or BPS certification and working within the UAE.
  • Faculty members teaching in MSc Clinical Pharmacy or PharmD programs at recognized UAE academic institutions.
  • Students enrolled in accredited UAE pharmacy programs, aligned with EMA student membership standards.

General Requirement: All members must be currently working or studying within the United Arab Emirates.

Rights and Responsibilities

  • Active members have the right to vote and hold office within the Society.
  • Members shall adhere to the Society's code of ethics and contribute to its objectives.
  • Student members may participate in activities but do not have voting rights.

Application Process

  • Applications shall be submitted through the EMA portal.
  • Required documents include proof of license or enrollment, valid identification, and payment confirmation.
  • Membership approval is subject to verification by the ECPS Membership Committee.

Fees and Renewal

  • Membership fees shall follow EMA guidelines and be payable annually.
  • Student membership fees shall align with EMA student membership rates.
  • Renewal requires submission of updated documents and payment before the expiry date.
